Beliefnet: 'The Da Vinci Code' Faith, Doubt, and the Search for Truth

Beliefnet: 'The Da Vinci Code' Faith, Doubt, and the Search for Truth

Wow. A whole series of articles and discussions regarding one of my favorite books. Definitely worth a look.

While I fully realize that "The Da Vinci Code" is certainly a work of fiction (and not even historical fiction at that), I love the thought that Jesus may have been married. What would be so very wrong with that? It would just show that He truly was as human as you or me while He was on Earth. It certainly is an amazing theory. I certainly don' t believe that we know all there is to know about Jesus Christ - and I'd love to know more about His life. As for all of the adament denials by the Catholic Church in particular, I think that their arguments are as about as much fiction as "The Da Vinci Code" itself (sorry if I offended anyone with that one). How can they pretend to know all of the definitive answers regarding the life of Jesus Christ - especially when the early Church did SO much to quiet women and anyone else who dared to go against their wishes? They certainly had an agenda to completely demonize all sex (in part for historical reasons) and women in general. All it is is DOGMA, pure DOGMA.

Your thoughts?

More later...

Lindsey
